Promising News!
My husband has been out of work nearly 2 months. I can see that being at home is making him a little crazy. He's been putting in applications for jobs in his industry and scouring the classifieds online, but so far no bites yet.
That is, until yesterday. Apparently someone he has worked closely with from another company had called the office to poach an estimator. Of course, my husband was not at the office. One of his former coworkers passed along his phone number and he scored himself an interview for lead estimator! Today he went on a job walk/interview. At the job walk, he encountered 2 of his former coworkers. Needless to say that could be a bad thing, but they seemed to have wished him well...it is just business, right?
We won't know until Monday for sure, but I've got my fingers crossed. I hope he gets the job. I mean, he is collecting unemployment, along with my paycheck, we can live pretty decently, but I really hate not being able to save money, or splurge a little. Clearly, mortgage, utilities, insurance, gas and food are the biggest payments we have to make right now, all I ask for is that we can pay for those things. Everything else is really not necessary.
He said the interview went well, and he thinks it would be really great to work for that company. I'm hoping for the best!
