  • Is Monday Over Yet?

On Friday, we went out to Happy Hour, and I had one too many drinks.  Thankfully I had a designated driver and there was no vomiting involved.  But that didn't stop me from being lazy all weekend.  But all in all, it was a fun night with some friends.  And I was done by 9 PM.  I must be getting really old.

Yep, all weekend we stayed home and watched Netflix.  But that is okay, it is a good to be frugal...unless I whip out a credit card for online shopping, and we all know that can be a scary situation.

Anyway, Mr. W decided to make dinner for me tonight.  He made beer-marinated steaks and served it with some veggies and mashed potatoes.  He had a little help from packaged stuff, but it is the thought that counts.  I appreciate to being able to sit down to dinner when I get home from work  The steak was delish, cooked perfectly medium!  I wasn't too much of a fan of his "special bruschetta," but extra points for trying,

He finished making a second, better nail polish rack after I got my panties in a twist over the fact that the back pattern wasn't quite perfect.  He is considering making them to for sale.

Nothing much to report for the past weekend, which I am perfectly okay with.  I love quiet weekends relaxing at home as much as adventurous ones out doing stuff.  I think the older you get the more you are appreciative of peace and quiet.

How is everyone?  What did you do over the weekend?

I saw Pitch Perfect with Mom on Sunday. GO SEE IT NOW!!

I'm sick now so I'm going to the clinic at 8 when it opens. I hope it's not serious but this is my second cold in less than 2 months & we just hit flu season. I just want to be safe.

The "special bruschetta" made me laugh. Your husband is so sweet (: And yea, I'm not even that old, but I'm starting to appreciate the quiet and peace more than loud noises and racket.

I did not do anything over my weekend except study :|
  • babybug329

@Shinbi_Belldandy - I want to see that but I am afraid Mr. W is probably unwilling to go with.  Maybe on the weekend, early show.  Rebel Wilson is hilarious!  Sorry to hear you are suffering from flu and cold symptoms again, I hope you feel better soon.

@hilabpartnerxD - I posted the picture on FB, someone called it "white trash bruschetta."  The other name I was going to go with would be tomato and cheese on toast  Studying can be tedious at times, but I think it is worth the effort.

Aww, your husband is sweet... I wish I have someone to make me a nail polish rack,

  • Shinbi_Belldandy
@babybug329 - thanks! He's missing out! Oh well! Let me know when you guys open your etsy shop! ;)

Mmmmm... That steak looks delicious! I take my steak medium well while Ricky takes his medium rare! I tried his steak on Saturday & found it too pink for my tastes but it was very very soft! I may have to try it medium next time.

I love relaxing weekends! I think it's good to have those every now & then because 1. You get to relax & 2. You save money!!! I'm thinking of having a date night at home this weekend & make something good. Maybe I'll make those mini cheesecakes! Mmmm!

I am really loving that nail polish rack! I can't believe you have enough to fill it up with!

I will message you back tomorrow, my iPhone app doesn't let me access my messages. =(

Good husband =) LOL That is sooo sweet, dinner hand a nail polish rack ! You have a great, sweet guy it seems !

  • babybug329

    @Xcite_Media - Thanks

@Shinbi_Belldandy - A friend shared the photo online and started hawking them on Facebook already!  LOL

@Mrs_FoodLover - I can't do medium rare either.  Can you believe I used to eat my steak well done?  For shame!  Hahaha.  Gradually ordered it less done, but still, medium is the rarest I'd go.  I don't have enough to fill the polish rack with, he says it is not an excuse to buy more just to fill it up!  LMAO!!!!  (We'll see.)  I'm going to buy like 3 back up bottles each of China Glaze 108 Degrees and Ruby Pumps.

@Want2FitIn2Fat2Fit - He is a great husband but he has the ability to drive me crazy, too  Well, you take the bad with the good (such as leaving a trail of Mr. W everywhere he goes...dirty clothes, dishes, especially the bathroom situation after he trims the facial hair--YUCK!).

I AM old. LOL I cannot go out drinking anymore. And I'm an emotional drinker, so I've come to the conclusion that drinks aren't for me anymore. I used to be a happy drinker, eh well sometimes I was an angry drinker. Or an aggressive....SCRATCH THAT!!! I'm glad you had a designated driver!!!

Awww, the fact that your hubby made you dinner is sooooo sweet. I love the tomatoes and cheese on toast. **insert proud smile** it definitely is the thought that counts! Wow, so you now have TWO nail polish racks?!?! Yes, I am officially jealous and of course that is a reason to go out and get more! Hehehe!!

@babybug329 - EW! Maybe he wants to remind you of him ,so you can think of him every part of the day =) Or perhaps a tap on the nose with a rolled up newspaper will work ? =)

    Dear Babybug,

One of my major drawbacks on Xanga has been my sometime inability to just leave a dang one line comment. I will read multiple entries, and I may possibly be at work, and won't get the time to comment. Then days pass.I pretty much looked over your last eight or ten entries last week, and then never commented. I am, of course , reciprocating to your visits and comments on some of my recent blogs. So without further ado, thank you so much for your visits and comments. I do remember one of the entries I perused last week was about you and your husband at Comic Con. (I know, it was really Comikaze) One day I shall have to visit one of these venues. I always like to "meet" Xangans who live in SoCal, and the L.A. area specifically, cause I live here. Hopefully, we will become correspondents.I did notice that you left me a second comment without me first "returning" yours. (I have a bit of the ol' OCD, and  I treat comments on Xanga like "writing letters" of old.)Gosh, now I gotta go back to work. Haven't even read this yet. As our ol' governator once said: I'll be back.Michael F. Nyiri, poet, philosopher, fool

@babysgirl23 - I am coming to a similar conclusion that drinks and I may not be friends either.  I do become angry and aggressive, or at least that is what my girlfriend Glo says.  "I don't want to have to defend you..."  But yes, designated driver is the only way to go.  If I plan on dinner with friend(s) without one, then I might only have one drink early on during the dinner and only water after that.  Typically dinners with girlfriends lasts a couple hours.  I think the second rack may be raffled off/contest prize on his FB page to a friend for fun.  He doesn't make dinner often (if I posted a picture of the tornado that hit the kitchen you would know why), but when he does, it is a treat

@Want2FitIn2Fat2Fit - I've given up.  Either I clean it or it doesn't get done.  And either way, it is not worth the stress, or fight.  Maybe I will con him into going with me to see a chick flick.  That should fix him right up

@baldmike2004 - Thank you for stopping, Mr. Michael F. Nyiri.  I hope you will find something of interest here, or at least get a chuckle out of.  I have yet to discover many Xangans in the LA area.  I noticed in your Betty Boop post that your home has wood paneling.  The home we bought also had wood paneling in several rooms.  Do you think that the wood paneling is a regional preference?  (We have since removed it, it was not our style.  I don't know which is worse: fake wood paneling or floor-to-ceiling mirrors.)

@babybug329 - Oooooh, guilt trip trip ! I will have to remember that for later on !

My husband makes some pretty lousy food sometimes, but I never let him know when I hate it. I appreciate the effort.  The rack looks pretty good - I assume it's for a retail situation - or do you have that much nail polish? I'm a little daft about the female type stuff.

  • babybug329

@oceanstarr - Yes, I agree, Mr. W's food can be not up to par.  But he grills wonderfully, and he made use of pre-made sides from the store.  The nail polish rack only became that big due to poor communications.  It is for home use, but I do not own that much polish.  I was trying to explain to him that what I wanted based off an idea I saw on a blog, and I went to buy the foam board for the back.  He thought I wanted one that was the same size as the foam board (20"x30").  When I got home from work, he had already built the frame and shelves, sanded it and painted, I didn't have the heart to tell him that it wasn't what I meant because he worked so hard on it.

  • oceanstarr

@babybug329 - I guess he's as oblivious as I am lol... but it is sweet and kind and these things should be rewarded. I'm sure it can be used for other things as well My husband is building me a home office/studio spot. It's not really the way I want it, but it is a great improvement and I'm very grateful for his efforts!
